Now, the home is going up for auctioJune 12. The group is enrolled in the Buildinh Trades Program at Erie 1 BOCESw PotterCareer & Technical Centerd where they gained hands-on experience of all construction phasesw — from rough framing to finishy carpentry — when they built a 1,344 square-foot house in the parkin g lot this past school year. As part of the two-yeadr program, and incorporated in the class project, studentsd participated in foundation andfloor framing, wall ceiling and roof framing, interior/exteriorr finish and cabinet making. They also learned abouyt building codes, blue prin t designs, plumbing and electrical systems.
Instructorz David Grieco and Brian Toth oversaw the which includesthree bedrooms, a full bathroom, a master suitre bathroom with a jet tub, and a first-flooer laundry room. As part of the process, upgradeds and enhancements were made so students coulc learn of changes affect the workdat in theconstruction field. “These extras give the students theexperience they’ll need when they graduatr and find a job in this field.
