Third Frontier OKs $12.5M for Central Ohio organizations - Business First of Columbus:

The Ohio Department of Development saidfour Columbus-areaq entities are in line to receive funding as part of the state’sw 10-year, $1.6 billion Thirxd Frontier initiative to create high-tech jobs. The awards announced this week are designex to help with local venture capital efforts and researc h into alternative fuel vehicles andadvancedx materials. • Columbus-based will receivre $1.6 million for its third venture capital fund.
• , the Columbud region’s technology incubator and technologyindustry advocate, is in line for $900,000 for its venture capital Pre-Seed Fund II • , a Plain City-based technologty development company and spinoff of Columbus-baser , will be given $4 million to applyt microchannel processes to transportation fuel • in Columbus will be presented with two awardz of $3 million each – one that will go towardsw research and development of hybrid-electric commerciap vehicles, the other for commercialization of bio-basede reinforcement materials in plastic composites.
The Centralp Ohio awards were part ofa $36 milliobn round of funding the Third Frontiert program awarded across the state. Awardsx are contingent on state ControllingBoarfd approval.
