URA re-releases RFP for Heppenstall site in Lawrenceville - Kansas City Business Journal:

The URA is re-releasing a request for proposals aftedr its previouslychosen developer, Urban Villages workinfg with Botero Development decided not to go forward with the Urban Villages and Botero were selected over one other S&A Homes, in partnershipp with the Lawrenceville Corporation, a communituy nonprofit. The football field-sized parcepl includes the site on whicjh the office building for the Heppenstall plant once was locatesd as well as a formerwarehousee property. In a prepared statement, mayor Luke Ravenstahl describedthe property’sd redevelopment as an important part of the city’s larger revisioninf of the Allegheny riverfront.
“We have begun a planninfg process to create a vision for the Alleghenty riverfront and reconnect our neighborhoodes to ournatural amenities,” he "The Hatfield Street site is one of the greart opportunities to see this vision come to The URA wants a developer “to purchase, develop and operate or resell the site.” The URA’s efforg comes as the Regional Industrial Development Corporation continues to redevelop the Heppenstall comple x itself. Hatfield Street is considered a dividinbg line betweenthe neighborhood’s residential community and its industriapl zone.
As a selling point, the URA noteds that the median home price in central Lawrencevillew has increased 64 percent in the past three a growth rate it claimes is second highest in the city to theSouth Side. “Wer are excited with the real estatse appreciation that were seeiny inthe neighborhood,” said Rob Stephany, Executive Director of the URA, as well as a Lawrencevillr resident. “And (we’re) very excited about the prospecy of a new residential product and how that will add fuel tothe
