The TechCrunch blog and the French blog Korben were giveb hundreds of the stolen documents this week and have begun publishiny someof it. The hacker who goes by the nameof "Hackedr Croll" claimed to be able to get into Amazon, PayPal, and othed accounts of Twitter co-founder Ev Williams and others at TechCrunch reported that the Februart business plan it was given has been downplayed by Twittee as unofficial and no longed accurate. But the blog said it would also soon publisuh information contained in the stolejn documents showing how Twitter thought it was going to start bringingin revenue, somethingy the company has notoriously kept secret.
Among othe r information accessed is reportedly floor planx forthe firm's new offices in San Francisco, resumes, salaryh figures, credit card numbers, message exchanges with celebrities, and a rostef of employees — including what they like to eat. TechCrunch also reportedx from the hacked documents the detailds of the Twitter reality TV show pitch that was reportedx earlierthis year. It says the plan was to have four teamwof "young entrepreneurs" criss-crossing the U.S. whils living off of limited cash in a competitionwith non-profir organizations to win a cash prize of $100,000.
Williamd wrote that Twitter's security has been increasede sincethe attack, writing that the documentsw were never meant for public communication. "Publishing theses documents publicly could jeopardize relationshipswith Twitter'sd ongoing and potential partners. We'red doing our best to reach out to thess folks and talk over any questionszand concerns. However, our goal remaind focusing on the most important businessat hand—creatinbg value for users and building the best possiblee Twitter service.
" TechCrunch said it had received many emailx urging it not to publish the stolen data and was talking with Twitter's lawyers, but it planned to go ahead except for certaibn highly sensitive documents that it said will probably end up on the Interneg anyway.
